COVID-19 UPDATE
The health and safety of our athletes, staff, volunteers, vendors, charity partners, and the broader community we serve is our top priority. Due to the significant impact COVID-19 continues to pose to our community, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 HOKA ONE ONE Chicago Half Marathon & 5K scheduled to take place on September 27, 2020. For more information on this decision, please visit our website.

Because of this unfortunate cancellation, we are offering the following resolutions to all registered participants:
  1. COMPLIMENTARY DEFERRAL to the 2021 HOKA ONE ONE Chicago Half Marathon & 5K on September 26, 2021
  2. DONATE your registration fee to Chicago Public Schools via the Life Time Foundation (100% tax-deductible)
  3. GET A REFUND for your registration fee (minus original processing fee paid)

Please note: You must be logged into your RunSignUp account to submit your selection. You will NOT receive a confirmation email once you submit. The selection tool is to gather information. Once your selection is submitted, we will process your resolution. You may need to take further action based on the decision you make. The 2021 event date is subject to change pending city approval.

All decisions must be submitted before October 1, 2020

Here Are Your Options:

ACTION REQUIRED: You will be emailed exclusive instructions to register for the 2021 event (at no cost) prior to general registration opening.

If your family doesn’t rely on school meals, you may not be aware of the heroic efforts of Chicago Public Schools’ nutrition professionals. When COVID-19 hit Chicago, the district’s School Lunch Heroes responded to school closures without hesitation committing to feed the children of our city through the unknowns of this health crisis. We applaud their commitment to feeding our children and encourage you to support them.

Please consider supporting Chicago Public Schools, so they can continue to serve our children during this time of crisis.

100% of your registration fee will be turned into a tax-deductible donation to the Life Time Foundation who will administer all proceeds – 100% benefitting Chicago Public Schools. You will receive an email from foundation@ltfoundation.org by September 15th providing an official gift receipt. The Life Time Foundation is a public charity 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, federal tax ID: 03-0533192.

On average, it takes 10-15 business days for refunds to be processed but some banks may take longer. Please allow 10-35 business days for the credit to be posted to your account.

Description

Celebrate the 24th annual running of the HOKA ONE ONE Chicago Half Marathon & 5K, a signature event produced by Life Time.

Stepping off on Sunday, September 27, the Chicago Half Marathon & 5K is centered around Chicago’s historic Jackson Park, once home to the 1893 World Columbian Exposition. The course highlights Chicago’s historic south shore and features a traffic-free Lake Shore Drive–the only Chicago race to completely shut down this main transportation artery.  Runners traverse the streets of Hyde Park and the Museum of Science and Industry Campus before taking on the north and south Lake Shore Drive lanes and finishing at the Statue of the Republic or “Golden Lady” as she’s known to locals.

The Chicago Half Marathon supports the programming of our benefiting charity partner Chicago Run, promoting the health and wellness of Chicago children through innovative, engaging, and sustainable youth running programs.
