Description
The Old Yeller Duathlon takes place at the Crawford County Forest Preserve multi use trail system located at 5886 E. 1050th Ave. Robinson Il. 62454.The race will be Mountain bike riding and running on dirt trails. There are 2 options for the race. You can enter as an individual or as a team. The cost will be $50.00 for individual or $100.00 for a team. The team entry will be a 2-person team with one person racing the bike portion and one person racing the run portion. As an individual you will complete both the bike and the run. The biking portion will be first followed by the run portion. The race will have a time trial start with each bike start being spaced 15seconds apart to avoid congestion on the trail. The bike portion will consist of 2 laps through the trails. Each lap will be 5 miles in length. The run portion will consist of one lap through the trails and will be 5 miles in length. Total race distance will be 15 miles. We will ride and run the trail loop in a counterclockwise direction.
The race will be capped at 50 entries due to the limited space at the trail head. A team will count as one entry. E-assist Mountain bikes can be used but you will not be eligible for awards. The dirt trail conditions can be affected by weather. In the case that the dirt trails cannot be used an alternate date will be chosen or the race cancelled
All proceeds from the race will go to fund the purchase and installation of a commercial grade bike repair station at the trail head. This station will be for public use. All excess funds will go to the forest preserve for improvements
Trophies will be awarded for the 1st place male; 1st place Female and the 1st place team. All others will receive participation swag.
Race Schedule
1. Monday June 9th last day to be guaranteed participation swag (T-shirt and logo pint glass)
2. Monday June 23rd online registration closes
3. Saturday June 28 8am -10:30am packet pickup and late registration. Late registration fee will be $60 per person or $120 for team (check or cash only). There will be no late registration if the 50-entry cap has been met
4. Transition opens 8am. – closes at 10:30am.
5. Pre -race meeting at 10:45am
6. Race starts at 11am
7. Awards immediately after race
