Friends of CAC is hosting a 5K Charity run on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Leroy Oaks Forest Preserve!
The Friends of Child Advocacy Center is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization that provides essential services, such as counseling and other support to the hundreds of child abuse victims that pass through the doors of the Kane County Child Advocacy Center (CAC). The Kane County Child Advocacy Center is a division of the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office that investigates and prosecutes cases where children have been sexually and physically abused. Last year alone, the CAC investigated 424 reports alleging abuse to children in Kane County and provided services to approximately 1,000 children!
Your participation and contributions will not only help us to continue our vital work in assisting child abuse victims and their families, but also helps us to increase public awareness on the prevention of child abuse. All proceeds from our fundraising event go directly to supporting the child victims of sexual and extreme physical abuse in Kane County.
The Stride for Change 5K is a family event and welcomes participants including runners, walkers, wheelchair users, individuals with baby strollers - All are invited to attend and participate! To ensure the safety of all participants, underage children must have an adult available with them at all times.

The Kane County Child Advocacy Center is a division of the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office that investigates and provides a range of services for all reported cases of child sexual and severe physical abuse in Kane County. Using multi-disciplinary teams of trained professionals, the KCCAC investigates all reported cases of child sexual and physical abuse reported in Kane County in an appropriate, timely, and child-focused manner.
