5K Run & Walk

Registration:  Opens at 7:30 a.m.

5K :  We are implementing a rolling start this year.

         8:00 - 8:30 a.m.

We are happy to continue our Thanksgiving Weekend tradition of the Reason for the Season 5k.
But, it will look a little different in 2020.
We are keeping this as safe as possible for participants and volunteers,  while still enabling us to help provide much needed food for the Backpack Ministry.  Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome to join us!

Participants will pick up their race packet (which still includes a festive long sleeve tech shirt), attach their chipped bib, and start their race!  Participants are asked to wear a mask during the registration process until reaching the starting line.  Masks can then be removed to start your run or walk.   Disposable masks will be available.

After crossing the finish line, participants can grab a donut and go!  

RACE FEATURES INCLUDE:

* Event Long Sleeve Tech Shirt

* Timing mats at the Starting Line and Chip Timing for Finish Results by T&H Timing

* All turns will have directional signs

* Water bottles to take on course with you.

* Donuts following the race!

* Age Group Awards.  These will be mailed, as there will not be an awards ceremony following the race.

Proceeds from this 5k will support the Backpack Program  for students of KVSC.  The Backpack Program is designed to meet the needs of hungry children at times when other resources are not available, especially on weekends.  Qualified students are selected by teachers and administrators and sent home every Friday with a backpack full of nutritious, kid-friendly food.
