During a three-year circuit, the Heartland Half Maraton-5K Team Challenge & Kids Fun Run rotates between Jasper (2021), Huntingburg (2022), and Ferdinand (2023), showcasing Dubois County's continued evolution. Countryside views, charming downtowns, and historic landmarks set the scene for your run through these Southern Indiana riches. A commemorative medal will be revealed for every race in this circuit. Each medal connects to depict the county's geographic landscape, displaying iconic emblems honoring the area's heritage.

Half Marathon Route & Team Challenge Route (updated 8/10 due to construction on Vienna St.)
5K Route
The Kids Fun Run will take place on Friday, Sept. 15th. The route takes the participates around 18th Street Park's paved walking path for a 1.1 mile run. If you wish, (this is not required) you may participate in the 12 mile challenge, for your child to complete a half marathon over the course of the summer. Participants can print the Running Log below to track 12 miles prior to September 15th. Once participants complete and submit their Log at the registration table on Race Day, they will be entered to win a cool prizes! Click here for the Running Log
Kids Fun Run Registration opens at 5:30pm at the Tri-County YMCA with the run beginning at 6:30pm. The route begins and ends on the walkway between the YMCA & Ferdinand Community Center taking the kids around the 18th Street path.
On Saturday, after the race, take in the Ferdinand Folk Festival featuring live music from Noon - 9pm in 18th Street Park. This FREE, unique, family, and earth-friendly festival offers a day of live music, art, environment/wellness education and fun for the entire family!
Majority of the proceeds (90%) from Heartland Half Marathon, 5K, and Team Challenge will be split between the Phillip R. Dawkins Heart & Vascular Center (to be utilized for new integrative medicine services provided to patients at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center) and Girls on the Run of Southwest Indiana. The remaining 10% goes into the DC Multisport Endowment for future charitable causes and giving.
