The purpose of Megan's ride is to bring together bike enthusiasts and families for a fun morning of bike riding to celebrate and remember Megan Stancliffe. Megan was a young woman who endured many physical challenges with grace throughout her short life.
Megan passed away in July of 2017 at age 23 as a result of complications from cerebral palsy, which she contracted due to viral encephalitis when she was only two weeks old. Though Megan was unable to talk, endured many surgeries and used a wheelchair, she lived life with a smile on her face and a spirit of adventure!
Megan enjoyed riding her adaptive bicycle, canoeing and zip lining with her family. By taking part in Megan’s ride, you honor the memory of Megan and her positive, adventurous spirit.
Megan’s ride will benefit Outside the Box. OTB's mission is to empower people with intellectual disabilities toward personal growth, through education, self-discovery, leadership development and a customized career path.
All adult riders will pay a nominal registration fee when they register and are encouraged to raise additional donations for their participation in the ride. All fees and donations from the event will benefit Outside the Box.
All riders registering before July 1, 2019 will receive a free t-shirt and other sponsor goodies!
Registration and pre-ride packet pick-up will be available on Friday, July 26th. (Location to be announced.) On ride day, registration begins at 8:00 a.m. The ride starts at 9:00 a.m.
