Megan’s Ride

A bicycle ride benefiting Outside the Box.

The purpose of Megan's ride is to bring together bike enthusiasts and families for a fun morning of bike riding to celebrate and remember Megan Stancliffe. Megan was a young woman who endured many physical challenges with grace throughout her short life.

About Megan’s Ride
The ride will offer 21, 43, 62-mile routes, leaving at 9:00 a.m. from Christ the Savior Lutheran Church. Turn-by-turn directions will be provided and helmets
will be required. Free parking will be available at the church. Upon registering, all adult riders will pay a nominal registration fee and will be encouraged to raised donations for their participation in the ride. While this ride will have limited SAG vehicles, riders should be prepared to repair their own bikes in the event of flat tires or other minor repairs. Bikes and riders should be in good riding shape for the distance you choose.

All fees and donations from the event will benefit Outside the Box. All riders who register before July 1, 2019, will receive a free t-shirt and other sponsor goodies.

Registration and pre-ride packet pick-up will also be available on Friday, July 26th. (Location to be announced.) On ride day, registration opens at 8:00 a.m.
followed by welcoming festivities at 8:45 a.m. and the ride starting at 9:00 a.m.

Celebrating the amazing Megan
The purpose of the ride is to bring together bike enthusiasts and families for a fun morning of bike riding to celebrate and remember Megan Stancliffe. Megan was a young woman who endured many physical challenges with grace throughout her short life. Megan passed away at age 23 in July 2017 as a result of complications from cerebral palsy, which she contracted when she was only two weeks old. Despite the fact that Megan wasn’t able to talk, endured many
surgeries, and was confined to a wheelchair, she lived life with a spirit of adventure enjoying pastimes such as riding an adaptive bicycle, canoeing, and
zip lining. Participating in Megan’s ride honors the memories of Megan and her positive spirit.

Benefiting Outside the Box

Megan’s Ride will benefit Outside the Box, a day program for adults with disabilities. OTB Day Services Program participants are peer matched in small groups and have weekly opportunities to practice skills in community settings of their choice. OTB Employment Services works with participants on skills and knowledge they need to be successful in the workforce. Studio OTB allows program participants to express themselves artistically through a variety of media. The funds raised from this event will be used to increase capacity to meet the growing demand in our community.
