Description
Club Kokomo Roadrunners and Palmer's Jewelry will be hosting the second annual Be a SHEro 5K Run/Walk on March 8, 2025, in Kokomo. The SHEro 5K is part of the Kokomo Women' Expo and a fundraiser and women's only race celebrating International Women’s Day (March 8th) encouraging healthy activity in our community. We’re ready to make this a fun and empowering event for women in Central Indiana.
NEW THIS YEAR: We've added a Little SHEro Sprint! For only $8, Girls 10 and under can participate in a 1/3 of a mile route and receive their own finisher medal.
Registration Costs: $25 until December 31st, 2024, $30 until February 2, 2025, $35 until February 16th, 2025, and $40 until Race Day on March 8th. Sorry, but there are NO REFUNDS since this is a fundraising event to benefit our local domestic violence shelter.
Your Race Registration gets you:
- Participation in this All-Female chip-timed run/walk event
- Participant t-shirt and Finisher Medal (as supplies last)
- Register by February 16th to guarantee a T-shirt in your size
- Registration Swag Bag including promotions from local businesses
- The chance to win special age group awards generously donated by Palmer's Jewelry
- Access to the Kokomo Women's Expo
- The Kokomo Women's Expo will include free post-race snacks (until supplies last), vendors, music, and fun! We encourage you to run or walk with friends and celebrate the sisterhood of women in our community.
All money remaining after the event costs are covered will be donated to the Family Service Association of Howard County Domestic Violence Shelter. In previous years we were able to donate just over $4,000! We would like to exceed that level and continue to grow this celebration of Women!
Packet Pick Up & Kokomo Women's Expo
Early packet pick-up will be available on Friday, March, 7th at Grace United Methodist Church in Kokomo 6-8 PM. Packet pick-up will also be available on the day of the race at the registration table from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM. This year our race will truly envelope the celebration of International Women's Day on Saturday, March 8th. Local vendors, sponsors, and other businesses that invest in Women's mental and physical health will be present to celebrate our visitors and race participants. Our race is a special part of the 2nd Annual Kokomo Women's Expo where many special events will be taking place. Check back for more details on the full day of celebrating Women!
Race Day Details
On-Site Registration will be available starting at 9:00 AM at Grace United Methodist Church. Be prepared to participate in Indiana's unpredictable Winter/Spring weather. Please participate based on the event you registered for. As an example, if you registered as a walker, you must only walk for the entire race. If you register as a runner, you may run or walk as much as you please. Dressing up and creating fundraising teams is encouraged as we race in sisterhood for the benefit of local women in need. The race will start at 1:30 PM. We welcome the use of jogging strollers as long as those individuals start near the back of the lineup and are very cautious of runners and walkers. We cannot accommodate Dogs at this event. Feel free to contact the Race Director, Alli Lee by email at mikenalli711@gmail.com if you have any questions.
