Saint Nick Six

Hosted by Saint Joseph Grade School as a homage to Saint Nicolas, around his feast day in early December, the Saint Nick 6 features a 6k Run, 3k Run, 3k Walk, and the 0.06k Run Run Rudolph for first graders and younger.  

This year’s race will be our 15th and will be held on Saturday, December 6th.  The race starts at the grade school and participants will travel along South Bend’s scenic east bank trail north to Holy Cross College and back.  Each participant will receive a long sleeve tech style shirt.  

You must sign up by Friday, November 8 to be guaranteed a shirt!

Important Times & Places

Pre-Registered Packet Pick-up & Late Registration: Friday, December 5, from 3:30PM to 6:30PM or Saturday, December 6, from 8:00AM to 9:00AM in the Saint Joseph Ackels Life Parish Center (711 E Colfax Ave, South Bend, IN).

Run, Run, Rudolph .06K Start: 9:30AM. The race may include two heats.

6K Run/3K Run/3K Walk Start: 10:00AM (6K) 10:10 (3K) (All courses will close at 11am, 1 hour from the start of the event.)

Post-Race Celebration: Immediately following the race in the Saint Joseph Parish Gymnasium.

Awards

Take home awards for the overall male winner and the overall female winner as well as the top male and top female in each age category for the 6K Run.

Age categories are as follows: 10 and younger, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70+. Awards will be presented to 3K Run top overall finishers and limited age groups: 10 and younger, 11-12, 13-14, 15+.

Timing

Professional chip timing (the Run, Run, Rudolph .06K and 3K Walk are noncompetitive events with no chip timing).

Volunteers

Not intending to run or walk the event, but still want to be a part of it?  We can always use volunteers!  Our army of "Saint Nick's Little Helpers" will each receive a custom SN6 knit cap to show our appreciation!  Sign up to VOLUNTEER HERE!

Pets & Strollers

Although we love pets and babies at St. Joe, strollers and pets can pose high safety risks for participants in a setting as large as this event.  Pets are not allowed at this event.  Strollers are allowed on the 3K Walk, but not allowed in the 6K Run or 3K Run events.  If using a stroller, please yield to all runners on the course by staying to the right.
