Description
Hayden’s Walk is an annual 5K and Half Marathon race committed to raising funds for SIDS of Illinois to be dispersed for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) research. SIDS of Illinois is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to educating the public and professionals about bereavement support and infant mortality reduction including SIDS, supporting family members and others touched by the tragedy of a SIDS or post-neonatal infant death, and eliminating Sudden Infant Death Syndrome through the support and implementation of appropriate research.
• In 2009, the first 5K annual event was held in honor of Hayden Scott, infant son of Josh and Kate Scott. It drew over 100 of the Scott Family’s closest family and friends, and raised over $3000 for SIDS research. Since then Hayden's Walk has raised over $25,000 for SIDS research and has grown to honor multiple SIDS infants.
