Description
COVID-19 has affected many live races this year including our annual fund raiser: Vineyard Run For Literacy. The Virtual Walk/Run For Literacy allows you to continue supporting the Lake County Literacy Coalition in its efforts to promote literacy in Lake County. As a virtual participant, you may complete your selected distance at the time and location of your choosing between September 11 and October 11, 2020. You can walk or run in your neighborhood, on the trail, in a park, or on a treadmill. After you’ve completed your walk or run, you can submit your time to be included in the results. However, submitting your results is optional and not required. If you ordered a T-shirt, it will be mailed to you by November 1, 2020.
*Children age 6 and under are always welcome and always walk for free. No registration is required.
Race Rules
- I agree to abide by the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) recommendations for the prevention of the spread of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and other communicable diseases.
- I will read the CDC’s guidance at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html.
- I will comply with any “stay at home” orders in my specific location, and only participate in the virtual event by using a personal treadmill if restrictions require.
- I agree to follow all pedestrian safety ordinances including running on a sidewalk where available and not in the road.
- I agree to follow the rules of the road if no sidewalk or multi-use trail is available, and I will run against oncoming traffic and not with traffic.
