🌿🚶♀️ Remembering Lala – Walking for Love & Healing 🚶♂️🌿
📍 Location: Crescent Bay Park, Santa Monica, CA
⏰ Start Time: 8:00 AM
This Thanksgiving morning, join us for the Turkey Day Walk for Peace 5K—a heartfelt walk to support victims of domestic violence and all those seeking peace, healing, and community. Whether you're walking in honor of a loved one, for your own healing, or simply to stand in solidarity, this event welcomes all with open arms.
The route begins at Crescent Bay Park, heading down Ocean Walk and merging onto the scenic beach path near the California Street restrooms (mile 1). You'll continue along the coast past North Beach Playground, where a refreshing water station awaits. The turnaround point is just past the first volleyball net, marked with a clear sign, before returning to the finish.
This walk is inspired by Remembering Lulu, a tribute to those whose strength and resilience continue to inspire us. Come walk, reflect, and bring your loved ones as we take steps toward hope, healing, and a future free from violence.
💜 Sign up today and be a part of this special Thanksgiving morning of love, remembrance, and community. Together, we walk for peace. 🌿✨
Did you know? 💜
The holidays can be a difficult time for many, and domestic violence cases surge during this season. Studies show that reports of domestic violence increase by up to 30% during the holidays in the U.S., with Thanksgiving and Christmas being among the highest reported days for incidents. Many survivors face increased isolation, financial stress, and family pressures, making it even harder to reach out for help.
By participating in the Turkey Day Walk for Peace 5K, you're raising awareness, showing support, and helping to break the cycle of silence. Together, we can create a future where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered.
💜 Walk with us. Walk for peace. Walk for change. 💜
