Join the Anna Maria Elementary PTO at Coquina beach for a family friendly fun run or 5K.
A BEACH FUN RUN AND 5K for all ages and fitness levels - Benefiting Anna Maria Elementary School PTO.
Open to everyone! You don’t need to be an AME family to participate!
All the fun starts at 9 am on Oct 10th!
The fun run is approximately 1 km, untimed, and will be on the path under the shaded trees just prior to the 5k. This event is not intended for competition, but joy and fun. All ages are welcome and the path is stroller-friendly! Parents (or other responsible adults) can run free with their child. Walk, jog, run, skip, or dance along with others in our community. Prizes for best costume(s) and maybe other fun awards!
The 5K run will include chip-timed bibs, and the route is along both the beach and the paths. This race is for those who want to compete amongst other racers and/or against themselves (a perfect place to set your personal best time!), or who want a longer duration run/walk than the fun run. Please let those who are competing line up closest to the starting line.
Finisher medal and race t-shirt included for each participant registered before Oct 2nd 2026 (We can only guarantee t-shirts and medals for participants who register on or before Oct 2nd 2026. Limited extras may be available at the event on a first-come, first-served basis).
There will be signage and volunteers along the route, however children under 10 are encouraged to have a registered adult run with them.
Order of events:
7:30-8:30 am: Raceday registration/packet pick up
9:00 am: National Anthem
9:05 am: Warm up led by Reed Physical Therapy
9:15 am: Fun run begins
9:30 am: 5K begin
10:45 am: Cool down led by TBD
Immediately following cooldown: Fun Run and 5k awards presentations

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately Coquina Beach is not dog friendly, so please leave animals at home. If you really want to run with them, the virtual 5k option allows you to participate anywhere!
Can I run with my young child during the fun run?
Absolutely! You can register and have your own bib, or help your youngster out without paying for registration. Either option is encouraged.
However, only registered participants will get bibs and finisher medals.
Can I run in both the Fun Run and the 5K?
Absolutely! In fact, the fun run is a great extra warm-up for the 5k!
T-shirts and finish medals will be available for both races - just let us know if you don't want both t-shirts.

Is this a pop up event or legit?
The Dolphin Dash 5k and Fins Fun Run is super legit. Like County permits and beach patrol involved legit. We are following all local ordinances and requirements to ensure a safe and fun event.
Do I have to run?
Absolutely not! Walk, skip, dance, or hop your way along the Fun Run or 5 k course. Help us raise money for our little school on the bay while getting in a beautiful morning stroll on the beach.
I want to beat my PR - is it competitive?
The 5K will be timed. Bring your A-game! There will be first, second, and third place medals awarded to age group categories.
Can I register same day?
Although you can register to participate online up to 8:45 am the morning of the race, we cannot gaurantee enough t-shirts (especially in the desired size) or Finisher medals will be available unless you register at least a week ahead of time (by Oct 2nd 2026).

What is the fundraiser for?
The Dolphin Dash and Fin's Fun Run is a fundraiser for the Anna Maria Elementary School. 100% of proceeds will directly benefit the students, staff, and school.
How can I volunteer?
Fill out our volunteer interest form! We'd love to have your help! We can sign off on high school volunteer hours.
