Run or Walk for a great reward! 

From the 5K to the Half Marathon, you'll enjoy the scenic Hawthorne Trail and receive a wonderful finishers medal and a delicious gourmet cupcake from Gainesville's number one-rated Gigi's Cupcakes! A shaded and smooth asphalt surface is both runner/walker friendly as well as suitable for strollers. This is an event the whole family can enjoy!

Like last year, there will be a packet pick-up option at the Boulware Springs pavilion. Afterwards, you' can find Age Group Awards: 3 Deep starting with: below 10 years, then the next 5 up. The age groups will be 5 deep instead of 10 deep. For all four races, male & female.  Trophies awarded to overall male and female for 5k and 10k,  15k and Half Marathon.

 

After the event, look for your photo taken by a professional photographer posted afterwards.  
SHIRTS WILL BE A RACER BACK FOR THE FEMALES AND A TANK TOP FOR THE MALESShirts will not be guaranteed after 10/26/2021.

COVID 19 PROTOCOL

COVID 19 PROTOCOL FOR THE CUPCAKE RACE

 

PACKET PICKUP THE DAY OF THE RACE

Each distance will have a separate packet pickup tent that will be 10 ft apart. The runners will be given their packets on a one by one basis.The runners and volunteers will be wearing masks.
Next the runners will exit the pickup area and then go to the staging area for the race.

 

STARTING LINE

The runners will be staggered every six feet in 2 lines.
The half marathon will start first.
The runners will be staggered to start every 5 seconds.
The runners will place their masks in there bib bag and place at the mask on the mask table and then they can start.
When they finish they can get their bib bag and put on their mask.

 
FOOD AND WATER

The rest stops will not have cups of water. The stops will have 8 oz bottles of water and Gatorade. The runners can hold the bottle, run, and when finished they can place the bottles in the waste container at the next rest stop.
There won't be any food at the hydration stops. The runners will receive a Gu packet in their packet pick up bag.

 

AWARDS

There will be separate tents for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

 

CUPCAKES

All cupcakes will be individually package in clear or cardboard contairs as to eliminate excessive handling.

 

VOLUNTEERS

All volunteers will wear masks and gloves.
