Welcome to the 5k Nevermore, a twilight-to-darkness run where shadows lengthen and spirits soar as day surrenders to night.
Wind your way along Ocala’s Baseline Trail as the sun sets and the Spanish moss sways overhead. As darkness descends, gothic lanterns light your path through the gathering gloom. It is part race, part haunted stroll, and entirely inspired by Edgar Allan Poe.
Come in costume, bring the family for the Kids Mile, and earn your finisher’s medal at the end of the trail. Quoth the raven: run.

The Course After Dark
The 5k Nevermore starts at the Baseline Trail Head at 4255 SE 58th Ave in Ocala and follows the paved, tree-lined Baseline Trail through the woods.
The 5K steps off at 6:30 PM, right at sunset. You will start in the last light of day and finish under a dark canopy of oaks and Spanish moss, with the route lit by gothic lanterns along the way.
- 3.1 miles on a paved multi-use trail
- Chip-timed event
- Headlamps and reflective gear are welcome

Finisher Medal
Every finisher crosses the line to a custom 5k Nevermore finisher medal. Wear it with pride, or hang it somewhere the raven can see it.
Age Group Awards
Chip-timed results with awards in 5-year age groups, from 9 and under all the way to 80 and over.
Best Costume Award
Channel your inner Poe character. The most creative outfit on the trail takes home the Best Costume Award.

Registration includes a soft triblend 5k Nevermore race shirt with the raven on the front. Want sleeves for a cool October night? Upgrade to the long-sleeve version when you register.
