Chuck Strasser Memorial Candy Cane 5K Virtual Run and Walk

Get set for a fun day of running/walking with a Christmas flair. The Fifth Annual Candy Cane 5K is returning to the Daytona Beach area - "virtually" this year!

The Candy Cane 5K is Not Just a Race - It's a Tradition - one that we want to keep alive in 2020! This year, we are encouraging everyone to dress up in your craziest Christmas-themed attire, gather with family or friends, and get out there and run/walk (wherever you choose) for a day of fun on December 19th!   

All finishers will receive a medal which will be able to be picked up on December 19th - at Central Park off Fleming Ave at the pavillion! We will also have a photo-op at the medal pick-up, and will be sharing photos of the day and of the most Christmassy-attire! We will also be holding a contest for the top 3 best costumes - so be sure to post your photos on the race official Facebook page - or text them to Faith Wilson at 386-871-8140 while you run! 

We are excited to carry out the tradition this year while spreading Christmas cheer and raising money to fund local adoptions!  

It’s all about giving back
The event is a memorial fundraiser to continue the work of the late Chuck Strasser. Chuck was a much-loved member of the Daytona Beach-area community who passed away Jan. 1, 2015, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was a dedicated husband, father, businessman and friend to all, whose contagious smile and habit of sacrificing his time and money for those in need made him an example and mentor to all.

Chuck’s wife, Gina, and daughters Faith and Destiny are leading the effort to keep his work going with the 5K. With the help of Tomoka Christian Church, the Strassers hope to leave a lasting legacy honoring Chuck’s vision to help children not just in Volusia County but all over the world. Please join them in partnership. Funds raised will support local adoptions including efforts to place orphans in adoptive homes. This Christmas give a child a forever home!

Medal Pick Up
Medal Pickup will be held at 601 Fleming Ave, Ormond Beach (Central Park Pavilion) - on December, 19, 2020, day of race.
