This is the 20th Anniversary of the Halifax Health - Hospice 5K and we are excited to host it in-person again, along with a virtual option! We hope that you will join us in supporting this longstanding tradition that supports the Halifax Health - Hospice Family Caregiver Program. This program plays an integral role in the health of both the patient and their caregivers and is one of the reasons we continue to be the Top Rated and Most Recommended Hospice in Central Florida.

Proper precautions will be taken to ensure the health and safety of participants and volunteers. All participants and spectators are required to wear a mask when you are in the start / finish line area.  Masks must also be worn at packet pickup.  If you do not have your mask on, then you cannot pick up your packet.  Participants may take their mask off while they run, but must put masks back on after you finish the race and enter the finish line area again.  Please observe social distancing with your fellow participants and help us make this a fun and safe race for participants of all ages and abilities.

Be sure to post pictures, tag our Facebook page and use the hashtags #Hospice5K and #LYLW

Packet Pickup will be outside of the Port Orange Hospice Care Center on Friday, November 5 from 12 pm - 6 pm at 3800 Woodbriar Trl., Port Orange. If you choose to have a shirt mailed to you, it will be sent out the week of November 8 through the USPS.

We Honor Veterans, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), invites hospices, state hospice organizations, Hospice-Veteran Partnerships and VA facilities to join a pioneering program focused on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgment. By recognizing the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families, community providers, in partnership with VA staff, will learn how to accompany and guide them through their life stories toward a more peaceful ending.

We Honor Veterans provides educational tools and resources in advancing these goals:

  • Promote Veteran-centric educational activities
  • Increase organizational capacity to serve Veterans
  • Support development of strategic partnerships
  • Increase access and improve quality

We Honor Veterans also provides tiered recognition to organizations, known as Partners, that demonstrate a systematic commitment to improving care for veterans. Partner organizations assess their ability to serve veterans and, using resources provided as part of the program, integrate best practices for providing end-of-life care to veterans into their organization.
