Description
The 2024 SWA Run AWAY 5K Trail Run will be held Sunday, April 7, at the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County Education Center. This event celebrates the harmony of industry and nature, bringing awareness to recycling and solid waste issues.
The Run AWAY 5K is a unique race that takes participants AWAY through cabbage palms, cypress hammocks, marshes, and lush pine flat woods, with glimpses of Grassy Waters Preserve and the Palm Beach Renewable Energy Park. The race is conducted in partnership with the nonprofit Resource Depot, which works to inspire creativity, conservation, and community engagement through reuse.

Groups:
Running together has its perks! Gather your group of six or more and enjoy a $5 discount on each registration fee. Groups with six or more participants will receive a special shout out at the race! No need to gather the entire group before signing up – recruitment is open until online registration closes.
Once the sixth person joins your group, the previous five adults will be issued a $5 refund. Team members six and beyond will be able to register at the discounted price once they join the group. While the discount doesn't apply to the youth registration rate, youngsters can still be part of your race team.
Corporate Teams:
Interested in building a team at your workplace, school or organization? Corporate Teams are coordinated through a designated "captain" at your place of business, who compiles a list of registrants and makes a single payment for all registrations. Corporate teams will be acknowledged at the race, with a special prize for the team with the highest number of registrations. Please contact Events Coordinator Patti Hammond at events@swa.org to create your corporate team.

Event Map
Please be aware there are many SWA facilities on 45th Street and on N. Jog Road. Parking for the race will be near the SWA Education Center (6751 N. Jog Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33412). Once you arrive onsite, you'll be directed toward the parking area.
Via I-95
Take I-95 to Blue Heron Boulevard and head west. Merge onto the Beeline Highway. At the second light at N. Jog Road, make a left. The Education Center entrance will be on the right (west) side of N. Jog Road, after the SWA Administration entrance.
Via Turnpike (SUNPASS ONLY)
Take the Florida Turnpike to Exit 107 S.R. 710/Beeline Highway. At the light, turn left onto N. Jog Road. The Education Center will be on the right (west) side, after the SWA Administration entrance.
