Description
Rise 'n Run is the latest addition to the Middlebury Fall Fest on Saturday, September 6! This is a fundraiser for the Middlebury Food Pantry, which provides groceries for hundreds of families using volunteer helpers!
The 5K begins at 8:30 am and is a timed event, perfect for the serious runner, as well as walkers! The out and back scenic course will showcase the bucolic Middlebury area. You will be running out past various farms and open space, protected from traffic with minimal traffic. With the out and back course, you are never alone and get to see your friends along the way! You can get your workout in before you get to the finish line, where there will be Rise 'n Roll donuts for everyone!
The 1 mile walk starts first at 8:00 am and is not timed! Perfect for anyone wanting some exercise, including kids or families.
Your entry fee includes a t-shirt, timed entry (5K only) course support, and AG awards 3 deep.
Special Youth (13 and under) and family pricing available (2 adults and two children) to keep the event affordable for all!
With the family pack, you could run the 5K or walk either distance. When you check in at packet pickup, let the registration staff know which distance you would like at that time.
Start and Finish: 106 State Street, Middlebury
Parking: Start and Finish at 103 State Street. Head towards the Middlebury Library or nearby East park. If those areas are full, there is plenty of street parking in adjoining neighborhoods. Please follow volunteer directions and/or signage in the morning.
Refreshments will be available after you return, while we wait for others to finish and then hand out awards.
Awards will be presented to the top 3 Male and Female Runners, and top 3 in 15 Age Groups. Times will be pushed to Runsignup as soon as possible.
More fun awaits! After the awards, we hope you will check out the offerings of the Middlebury Fall Festival which includes food booths, craft vendors, music and more! Be sure to bring a few extra bucks so you'll be ready to hit the booths.
Dogs are not allowed at the Middlebury Fall Festival.
Please note that the shirt order goes in on August 15 in order to complete production. We do order extra shirts, but shirt sizes and availability are not guaranteed after that date. If you are able to select a size in the registration process, that means we still have shirts in your size available. If there is nothing in your size, please check in after the race since there is often size switching going on!

The Rise'n Run 5K is a fundraiser for the Middlebury Food Pantry, a 501c3 non profit. All sponsor checks go directly to the Pantry to purchase bulk food at a discount and seasonal supplies.
Further, the pantry relies on hundreds of volunteers to stock shelves, pack bags, etc so it has also become a defacto community center where young kids to adults get a chance to help others.
Sometimes working families can come up short in a month where a few unexpected and unplanned bills pile up. It can be quite scary when you are not sure how you are going to make it to the end of the month and how you will feed your children. The Pantry is a bridge for people to use, when needed to ease that stress.
