The McNeese Cowboy Club Gallop Virtual 5K & 1K Kids Fun Run
We are excited to announce the 9th annual The "McNeese Cowboy Club" Gallop 5K road race Oct. 7th, 2023! Proceeds from this event benefit the McNeese Track and Field Program.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Flat Fast loop course encompassing the McNeese Athletics Campus and main Campus.
Virtual 5K: You choose the course! Simply complete your registered race on a course of your choice from Oct. 1st-7th, 2023 and enter your time. The deadline to submit your results will be Oct. 7th by midnight.

Once you have finished your run/walk, capture a screenshot of your time and distance on an app on your phone, fitbit watch, etc. Go fill out the special Google Submission form at this link to be included in the results and be eligible for age group awards.
Note: If you don't have a google account, you can send your name, age, gender, email address, time and proof of time & distance to Aunjelle LaFleur with Race Pace Multisport LLC at ajattack@gmail.com as she will be compiling the results for the Virtual Race.

McNeese Track and Field Rebuild is Underway
The McNeese Track and Field Team like everyone ins Southwest Louisiana. Over the past 2.5 years of pandemics, 2 major hurricanes, 100 year freeze and epic flooding one thing has remained constant the McNeese State Track and Field Team's resiliency in the face of adversity!
During this time the teams remained focused on the task trusted the process and never wavered. After the decimation to Bill and Lena Track and Field Complex from the ferocious beating it took from Hurricanes Laura and Delta weeks apart. As the team returned to campus and the facility slowly started coming around the teams determination intensified.
Fast forward 2.5 years later the program completed one of most dominant team performances in its history. Combined winning 3 championships during year! The men's Cross Country Team started it off capturing their 9th Southland Conference Title. The women were a very close 3rd place only 5pts from taking the title. The caught the attention of the entire women's track and field team as they went on tear sweeping both indoor and outdoor conference titles for the first time in the programs 38year history!
It's a great time to get behind and support the Cowboys and Cowgirls Track and Field / XC programs. Your support goes to help fund the programs costs for uniforms, shoes, equipment, travel etc. for the year.
The Cowgirls and Cowboys did not just get it done on the track they took care of business in the classroom as well. At this years Rowdy Awards the Women's Cross Country was named Academic Team of the year with a Team of GPA of 3.75. Along with the men both teams also earned USTFCCCA All Academic Team for their efforts in the classroom. The entire track and field team was nominated as Team of the Year for their efforts in the classroom, community service and athletic achievements. They both also earned this past spring USTFCCCA All Academic Team awards for their efforts as well.
