The Goal: To bring the community together to raise awareness about opioid prevention and support those impacted by the opioid crisis. We’re hosting this race to inspire hope, encourage connection, and raise funds to help make a meaningful difference.
When? October 24th, 2026 from 2pm to 5pm
Where? Bangor Waterfront Park (Meet near the Waterfront trail beside Maine Savings Amphitheater. Enter from the Front Street area and follow event signs to the designated start/finish area!
Cost? There is NO race fee. The entry fee is pay by donation. Any and all proceeds and welcomed and very much appreciated.

Join us for a free and fresh home cooked meal after the event. The meal will be served at First Redeemer Lutheran Church from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Opioid Prevention 1 Mile Run/Walk/Wheel
Event Description
Join us at the Bangor Waterfront for the Opioid Prevention 1-Mile Run, Walk & Wheel—an inclusive community fundraiser focused on raising awareness, supporting prevention efforts, and bringing people together in response to the impact of the opioid crisis.
This event is being organized and presented by Timberwolves Native American Church. Runners, walkers, wheelchair participants, families, and community members of all experience levels are welcome to participate. Whether you complete the mile competitively or at your own pace, your participation helps show support for a healthier and stronger community.
Registration is offered by donation. Donations are welcomed and appreciated, but they are not required to participate. Every contribution helps support the event’s fundraising efforts and its goal of making a positive difference in the community.
The course follows the scenic Bangor Waterfront Trail along the Penobscot River. Participants will begin near Maine Savings Amphitheater, travel to the designated turnaround point, and return to the Start/Finish area. Water will be provided, and participants will also have the opportunity to win prizes.
Come move with purpose, connect with the community, and help raise awareness and funds for opioid prevention.
