Schools Offer Support (SOS) is a nonprofit organization that provides volunteer services and financial support to families in the Birmingham Public Schools community. SOS was founded in 2008 by a group of parents that wanted to work with students to build a stronger community through acts of kindness. You can read more about our mission on our website.
During the pandemic, through generous donations, SOS was able to assist families in our community with more than $40,000 in grocery gift cards, monthly food boxes, laptops for graduating seniors, and financial assistance for childcare, medical, and utility bills. This annual race is our biggest fundraiser of the year and your participation will help SOS to continue supporting families in our community.
