5K Run/Walk

Join us for our 3rd annual run, and our 1st official 5K timed race on the property of the Michigan Veteran Home at Chesterfield. Enjoy the beautiful grounds of our heroes home as well as our favorite mascots, Emma, and Charlie our beautiful bald eagles. You can view them as you enter the race but remember to please respect their space from the road only. Approaching them too close will make them want to leave their nest, and that would be sad for our veterans.

This walk/run event is for people of all abilities! All proceeds from this event will be deposited in the charitable support fund at Michigan Veteran Homes at Chesterfield Township, supporting quality of life programs, activities, outings and so much more for our veterans.

Remembrance Walk

Not a runner?  No problem.  This event is for you too! Sign up to walk with our heroes in a .5-mile loop of remembrance around the home.  Spend the time thanking a veteran for their service and sacrifice to our great nation. Have fun, dress up and show your patriotism, high five a veteran or you can sign up as a volunteer to push one of our veterans in the walk as well.  (See volunteer link)

Either way, you get a commemorative finisher medal for your support and get to meet some awesome heroes, families, and staff from the home.

Race Day Schedule

7:30 am -9:45 am             Event Check-in – walk-up registration

8:45 am                              Presenting of colors/national anthem.

9:00 am                              Remembrance Walk starts

9:45 – 9:55 am                  5K runners report to start line.

10:00 am                            5K starts

10 am-12 pm                     Hotdog lunch, provided by our sponsor.

10:15-11 am                      Finisher medals at finish line.

11:15 am                           Top age bracket winners and silent auction announced.

**PARKING WILL BE OFF SITE. PLEASE ALLOW FOR AN EXTRA 10-15 MINUTES TO PARK AND GET TO THE STAGING AREA.

**Runners, walkers and volunteers will receive their commemorative t-shirt on race day if they registered BEFORE APRIL 28th. 

**All registered runners and walkers will receive a finisher medal.
