🏃 Registration Is Open: Rails to Riverfront 5K & 10K

Join us for the inaugural Rails to Riverfront 5K & 10K at Current Landing on Sunday, September 27, at 8:00 a.m. CT.

Whether you're chasing a new PR, running with friends and family, or simply looking for a memorable way to experience Kansas City's riverfront, this flat and fast course welcomes runners of all levels.

Beginning and ending at Current Landing, Rails to Riverfront celebrates movement, community and the continued transformation of Kansas City's riverfront. After you cross the finish line, enjoy a morning of music, food, entertainment and activations along the waterfront.

FAQs

PACKET PICK UP

You will have the option to pick up your bib and t-shirt the day before, Saturday 9/26 from 3-7pm at our Team Store located on Current Landing: 1460 E Front St, Kansas City, MO 64120 OR on Race day, Sunday 9/27 from 7-745am, on Current Landing.

STROLLERS

Yes, strollers will be allowed for the Inaugural 2026 Rails to Riverfront race. DISCLAIMER: Portions of the race course past the Town of Kansas Bridge is gravel. (Approximately .25 miles for 5k & 2 miles for 10k courses respectively)

DOGS

Yes, dogs will be allowed for the Inaugural 2026 Rails to Riverfront race. Dogs MUST be on leash at all times and in control by their owner. Please be respectful and pick up after your dog along the course.

CHANGING FROM 5K to 10K

Changing your registration is possible! Registration changes can be made during packet pickup, though we strongly encourage you to visit our Saturday pickup window to make the adjustment in advance. You can pay the registration difference to upgrade from the 5K to the 10K onsite by credit card only. Please note that while participants may upgrade their race distance, refunds are not available for downgrades from the 10K to the 5K.

AID STATION

There will be one aid station along the course with water and portable restrooms. Runners will pass the aid station twice based on the course's out-and-back layout (5K location approximately .75 & 1.75 mile markers; 10 K location approximately .75 & 3.5). Please see map depiction of location.

CHILDREN

Yes, children will be allowed to participate in the Inaugural 2026 Rails to Riverfront race! If they plan to run, walk or skip, they will need their own registration and to be accompanied by an adult.

T-SHIRT

Runners must sign up BY September 14 to guarantee a T-shirt and proper sizing. If you registered after September 14, shirts will be available while supplies last. We encourage all participants to take advantage of packet pickup the day before the race or arrive early for race-day packet pickup for the best selection of available shirt sizes.
