Yellowstone Half Marathon

The Yellowstone Half Marathon takes place in the town of West Yellowstone, MT, just outside the entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It's a stunning course with breathtaking views of the Gallatin National Forest, huge gulps of crisp fresh air, and maybe even some wildlife.

The race starts at 7 AM sharp with a cutoff time of 11 AM. That provides runners (and even walkers) 4 full hours to take in the scenery and make your way to the finish line.

The race takes place on a dirt road and trail in Gallatin National Forest. The course starts flat but has a major and a minor hill that you need to train for. You can see a map and elevation on the course link on the website. The best part of the course is that you will be less than a mile from the west park entrance. That is only 32 miles from Old Faithful and 24 miles from the Grand Prismatic Spring!

Important Notes

Double & Quad Registration

Registering for this race does not qualify you for the Bison Double, Grizzly Double or Grand Quad medals. To get the Bison Double, Grizzly Double or Grand Quad medal, you must register for those events. *Double & Quad events take place on different dates. Make sure you are aware of the race dates. 

Resort Fee

At the end of your registration, you will see a 3% fee. Normally we avoid adding fees or taxes on any of our race registrations but the town of West Yellowstone requires us to add a 3% resort tax on race registrations. We apologize for this additional fee.
