Join us for our 8th Annual Run 4 Recovery 5K Saturday, September 30th, 2023!

Recovery Alive is a safe place for anyone to come and DO recovery. No matter what people struggle with, all are welcome. At Recovery Alive, we want to meet people where they are, not where we want them to be. We want to connect everyone to the power that gives life to the process and people. Recovery Alive is committed to working tirelessly to heal our community ONE ☝ changed life at a time.
RA is RAISING HOPE FROM THE DEAD!
All local participants will pick up their race packets Friday, September 29th from 12-6 PM. The RA 5K road race will kick off Saturday, September 30th at 8:00 AM sharp at our beautiful location @ 190 Campground Road Selma, NC 27576.
Following the run, we will have food, fellowship, music, and awesome stories of recovery at our RA 5K after party. We will be sharing race results, presenting awards, and live streaming. We encourage everyone to share with family, friends, and on social media.
RA 5K Registration:
- Early Bird registration is $25 through 9/15, price increases to $30 after 9/15.
- All participants will receive a RA 5K Run 4 Recovery T-shirt!
- All participants will receive a RA 5K finisher medal!
RA 5K Expo:
- 5K and Virtual participants may pick up their packets on Friday, September 29th from 12-6 PM @ Temple, 190 Campground Road Selma, NC 27576.
Can't make it on race day but still want to be a part of the race? Sign up for the Virtual Race!
Virtual runners also receive a T-shirt and medal that will be mailed to you, if you choose. You can choose to pick up your shirt via local pickup, or have it shipped to you for $5. Participants who sign up by 9/1 and choose to have their shirts mailed will receive shirts by race day. For those who register after 9/1 shirts will be mailed but are not guaranteed to arrive by race day.

Awards:
5K Race Day Awards will be presented to the top 2 overall M/F and top 2 M/F in each age category. In addition, awards will be presented to the biggest and fastest teams.

VIRTUAL RUN
This year, we will be offering a virtual run in addition to the normal in-person event.
How it Works
Sign up here (use the Sign Up button at the top of the page).
Print out your digital bib (from your Runsignup profile page) if you'd like.
Download the RaceJoy app for the best race experience.
Run your race at a place of your choosing (including a treadmill) before the deadline. If you use RaceJoy, it will automatically submit your results. If not, go to the results page and submit your time.
Virtual Race FAQs
What is a virtual run?
A virtual race is an event where you sign up and participate on a course of your choosing (or a treadmill). Without physical races going on right now, this is a great opportunity to work towards your running goals, stay healthy and support a great cause, while following social distancing guidelines!
The event will feature a leaderboard so you can still see how you stack up against your fellow competitors!
Where do I run?
You can run at a course of your choosing, including on a treadmill. Be sure to follow current CDC and local guidance and keep 6 feet away from anyone that you run around, or by, to keep as safe as possible.
When do I run?
You can run (or walk) anytime on September 30 - October 1, 2023.
Will this race be timed?
The virtual run will not be officially timed, but by using the RaceJoy app, you can receive a GPS-based time which will automatically submit your time for you. There will be an online leaderboard showing everyone's times.
How do I post my results?
The easiest way is to use RaceJoy during the race! If you choose not to use RaceJoy, then you can visit the results page and click the "Submit Virtual Results" link at the top of the page.
When/how will I get my swag?
Swag will be available for local packet pickup on Friday, September 29th from 12-6 PM @ Temple, 190 Campground Road Selma, NC 27576. If you chose the $5 shipping option, your swag will be shipped directly to your address.
