Wednesday Evening Group BRUN - Rockland Road Runners Bridge Run
Event Description
The BRUN Is Back for 2026
The Bridge Run (Hashtag #BRUN) is back for a fifth year.
When and Where
We meet at the Gazebo near the old South Nyack Village Hall at 282 S. Broadway, and at 7:30 sharp, we head up the steps to the Esposito Trail and join the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo shared use path across the bridge towards Westchester.
This run is for everyone, regardless of ability, not just the speedsters and marathon runners. The full distance to Westchester and back is 7 miles but you can turn around at any time. You can even walk if you like. The path is well-lit and monitored by security cameras and we always check that everyone made it back before we leave. There are bathrooms at the Westchester Landing, and also a short walk from the start/finish at the Rockland Landing.
The run takes place every week rain or shine. It will only be cancelled if the Thruway Authority closes the path, which they only do for high wind, ice or lightning. You can check if the path is open on the bridge home page. It can be blustery out over the water, so consider a wind-proof shell even if it doesn't seem that cold. We usually have refreshments after the run: hot chocolate if it's cold; water and electrolyte drinks if it's hot, but not every week, so come prepared to rehydrate yourself.
Register Once, Run all Year
- We welcome all Rockland-area runners, not just RRR Club Members. And there is never a charge.
- We do ask you to register so we have your contact information and to sign the RRR waiver which is a condition of our insurance.
- If you signed up in the last 3 years, we'll carry your information over. Just let us know if you want to be removed from the reminder e-mails.
- Online registration is best, but walk-ups can fill out a printed form.
