The PetPromise Walk for the Animals is more than just a walk — it’s a powerful community event dedicated to giving homeless cats and dogs a second chance.  This impactful fundraising event brings together people of all ages who care about dogs and cats to support PetPromise’s mission: rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming. Whether you’re walking solo, forming a team, or fundraising with friends, every step you take helps save lives and raise awareness about the pet overpopulation crisis. After the walk, stick around and enjoy a full day of fun at Genoa Park — with Washington Boulevard lined with sponsor booths, artisan vendors, and over 25 local makers. Grab a bite from delicious food trucks, sip refreshing drinks, and relax by the Scioto River while enjoying live music from Rhythm & Rust.

This walk isn't just about fun it's about having an impact!  When people who care about animals like you come together, incredible things happen.  When you walk for animals, you walk for more lifesaving medical treatments, more animals rescued from abuse and neglect, and more resources provided to pets in need in underserved communities. Every dollar that you raise supports pets that need us.  Be part of a powerful movement as hundreds of people and their pets come together in a 1-mile walk through the streets of downtown Columbus to fundraise and raise awareness about pet overpopulation — and how rescue, education, spay/neuter, and adoption are the keys to ending it.

Before and after the walk, explore the Sponsors & Vendors Marketplace, featuring curated local artisans and makers offering handmade and one-of-a-kind finds. Connect with the sponsors who help make PetPromise’s mission possible — saving the lives of hundreds of cats and dogs each year.

Fundraise to Save Lives 
Take your impact further by fundraising alongside your walk. There’s no registration fee to take part!  But we encourage you to set up your fundraising page, and invite your friends and family to donate in honor of you and all of the animals that are out there that desperately need our help. Your efforts help provide medical care, food, and safe shelter for pets in need.  Bring your friends and family and walk to make a difference to bring awareness to have an impact!  If you have a group of folks who will be walking together—such as a Community Partner group, a workplace, a club, or even a group of friends—register as a team. You can also choose to join an existing team, or support other walkers and teams.  

*All registered participants that raise $50+ will receive a commemorative t-shirt to memorialize their participation and show your concern for homeless, neglected, and abused dogs and cats in need

*Raise $50+ on or before August 31st and you will receive your t-shirt prior to event day to wear for the Walk.
