Description
Join us May 23, 2023, at 10:00 am for the Viking 5K run/walk. All Scioto Elementary students in grades 3, 4, and 5 and Teays Valley West Middle School students are invited to participate with their classmates and family members (not of school age) on May 23. This year, all proceeds from the annual Viking 5k Fun Run will go to Honor Flight Columbus. The mission of Honor Flight is to celebrate America’s veterans by inviting them to share in a day of honor at our nation’s memorials. Our donation will help local veterans attend an Honor Flight. We have a special connection with this organization, as several of our staff members have family who have had the opportunity to participate in Honor Flight.
Please note that registration for the race will close at 11:59 PM on Sunday, May 21. Anyone who registers after Sunday, May 14, will need to pick up their race materials on race morning. There will be no race day registration. Event t-shirts are available to all those registered through Friday, April 21. Race packets (bib and shirt) will be delivered to all students at school on Thursday, May 18. Those packets will have the parents' bib/shirt included as well.
All proceeds will go to Haven House of Pickaway County!
This year, all proceeds from the annual Viking 5k Fun Run will go to Haven House of Pickaway County. Haven House of Pickaway County, Inc. is a domestic violence and homeless shelter. They strive to empower survivors of domestic violence by providing advocacy, shelter, support and safety planning. They also provide shelter for women and children who are homeless.
