Have a need for one more 50K this year? We have it for you. In person, with real humans and a couple bucks and does.
Chose from a 5 pointer, 10 pointer, 13.1 pointer, 26.2 pointer or the 50 pointer! All distances include a bucking great finisher medal. See where this is going? You are going get a bunch of deer puns because it is right before WI deer season.
If a race is sold out, shoot us and email and we may be able to move some caps around.
The race is one week before deer season and we wanted a deer related name so we held a naming contest. The Bucks & Does Fifty Pointer was selected, and now you know. You will very likely see deer during the run.
Not ready to run in person or don't happen to be near Wisconsin? We have a virtual option!
The trails are well groomed and mostly wood chipped. There is a portion that is grass, but it is well maintained. Over 60% of the course is shaded with trees.
The course distances will not be exact since it is trail running, and as nice as the park people are, they won't let us cut down trees to make new paths. If you ran the Lapham Peak race (at Nashotah) last September, it is the course in reverse. Easier? Maybe, maybe not...
5K - 1 lap inside - 3.21 miles
10K - 2 laps inside - 6.42 miles
Half - one lap inside, 2 laps outside - 13.03 miles
Full - 2 laps inside, 4 laps outside - 26.06 miles
50K - 2 laps inside, 5 laps outside - 30.97 miles
The outside laps are run first.
The course is market with 12X12 turn arrows, 3' tall course signs and cones. It does not use the traditional ultra trail tape or markings. It is very well marked and you do not need to try and memorize the course.
This will be a wave start race. Waves of 10 people will start every 30 seconds. There will be 10 rows of cones with 10 cones per row spaced 10 feet apart. You will self assign your wave on race day by selecting the wave and standing next to a cone. The announcer will start each wave. We ask that people social distance at least 10 feet while in the park and wait until 10 minutes prior to the start of the race to select your wave. Your time will not start until you cross the start line. As you make your way from the wave to the start, please continue to social distance by 10 feet.
Based on our current permits, face coverings are now required at events. Here is how it will work:
Anyone in the “Arena” is required to wear a face covering. The Arena is defined as anywhere other than on the race course. This includes registration, packet pickup, parking areas, finish line, start line, restrooms, beer line, medal line, anywhere near other people. If you are within 10’ of anyone, at any time, a face covering is required.
Once you are on course, face coverings do not need to be worn, provided you are at least 10 feet from another person. At the start, you are spaced 10’ from others - we strongly encourage you to keep that distance. If you need to pass, call out “on your left” and move as far left as you can. Once you have passed a runner and you are at least 10’ in front of them, move back to the right.
We encourage runners to consider using running buffs while running near others. Buffs are available on our merchandise website.
When you cross the finish line, please move outside of the arena for your cool down. Once your cool down is complete, a face covering is again required.
If we want to keep running in person events together (and we do!), it is imperative that we exceed our permit requirements. Waukesha County is one of the few places in America that is open to in person events. It is up to our running community to prove that we can hold events safely.
The shirts are deer and doe specific, dry wick and those registered by noon on November 1 are guaranteed a custom race shirt. After that, shirts will be available while online supplies last. Any extra shirts will be distributed after the race on a first come, first served basis.
Everything you ever wanted to know about shirts can be found right here. The FEMALE shirts run small!
Parking is available on site.
The entrance to the park is short, so please have $5.00 in cash or a season pass when entering. There are four park and ride lots in the area.
Top 3 male & female finishers in 5 year age groups will receive a custom medal.
Everyone receives a finisher medal. The finisher medals will have the distance for each race on them.
