The Timothy Gahagan Memorial Frostbite Scramble is similar to a 9 hole golf scramble but it's on frozen Silver Lake in Oconomowoc, WI. "Golfers" use a tennis ball and are allowed to use any device to strike the ball from the ground. Teams are comprised of 2-4 golfers with a shotgun start.

What is golfing on a frozen lake like?
History Of Event
In 2012, our father needed medical assistance. That day, we realized how much our police, fire and EMS members contribute to our communities. Almost immediately men and women rushed into our home, some still in their civilian cloths, to assist a family member. Many of these men and women are volunteers and in an instant they dropped whatever they were doing in order to assist our family. We are immensely thankful for their dedicated service.
That day we decided we needed to give back to these heroes. That was the impetus for the Frostbite Scramble. One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to the Western Lakes Fire Department and Summit Police Department to support the men and women who support our communities in our greatest time of need.
In October 2013 we made our last call to 911. The brave men and women of the Western Lakes Fire District and Summit Police Department were there to assist our family as they had numerous times before. Unfortunately, Tim left us two weeks later. The event which now carries his name is in memory of Dad - Timothy Gahagan.
BEST BALL SCRAMBLE FORMAT
Play begins with each member of the group teeing off.
With the agreement of the other members of the group, the team captain decides which drive is the most desirable.
The other members of the group pick up their balls and proceed to the spot of the selected drive, where they will hit their second shots.
The best of the second shots is then chosen. The group will then hit all their putts (or third shots) from that spot.
This procedure continues until the ball is in the hole.
At the end of each hole, the score for the group is recorded on the card.
Golfers can play more than 9 holes but the final score will be based on 9 holes and awards will be based on a 9 hole finish time.
"Rules"
- The ball may be struck with any instrument (including your foot) but must be struck while the ball rests on the ground. (you cannot pick up the ball and hit it)
- The ball should be hit from the T-box matt.

- If a ball from another foursome encroaches your play in any manner, you may "gently" move their ball - we
