New Date: Series update
I wanted to give you a quick update on where we are with the Wisconsin Trail Assail Series and permits.
As everyone knows, we have cancelled the first two races and hope to reschedule them later this year.
Father’s Day is going to be a last-minute decision. As of today, Waukesha County limits events to 50 people. We have been working on social distancing procedures for months and have it down. We can hold larger events and stage people so there are never more than 50 people in a given area at one time and all spaced out at least 6 feet apart. We think the county will agree to that.
Don’t quote me on this, but I think we will wait until the week of the 15th to make the final decision, unless they approve it earlier. I know that’s last minute, which is not my style, but I really want to allow people to run. With that said, if you are not comfortable running races, I totally get it. You can defer the race, or the entire series, to next year. Here is how to do it.
Pike Lake (Watermelon) and Lapham Peak (Taxman) are a different situation. Those parks are run by the State of Wisconsin DNR and they have a different set of guidelines. If we can’t hold those events (Watermelon/Taxman), but we can hold events in Waukesha County Parks, we will move them to Waukesha County Parks. It’s a total mess, but please know that our crew is doing everything we can to open running in a safe manner.
As always, you can email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your patience, and, I promise, we will be running together soon. Socially distanced, of course.

Chief Permit Processor
Seven races over five months with a series ending championship. The races are held in Waukesha County and Wisconsin State Parks. All the races have 5K & 10K distances and five of the races have 1/2 marathon distances. Run/walk some or all of the races.
This registration is for the series. If you would like to register for individual races, click on the race link below. When registering, select the distance you would like to run at all the races. If you select half you will automatically be moved into the 10K if there is not a half distance. Don't worry you can change your distance anytime for free.
Not sure about a trail run? Come out and try it. If you are not satisfied with our trail events, we will refund the entrance fee! No strings attached.
Additional race information can be found at https://silvercirclesportsevents.com/wisconsin-trail-assail-series.
There will be a Kids 1K run (under 10). All kids will get a bib just like Mom & Dad. The race is FREE for the kiddos if Mom or Dad is registered and you can register on line at no charge. Sorry no shirts for the kiddos.
Points are assigned by place position for each age group. Points will be based on a point system (1st place 10 points, 2nd place 9 points, 3rd place 8 points through 10th place). You must participate in 4 of the 7 races to be eligible for the series awards. You can switch between distances (at no cost) but you must run in at least 4 races of the same distance.
Series age group medals given to the 3 male & female finishers in 5 year age groups. A finisher's medal is given to those that register for the series.
Here is how it works.
As part of our effort to increase awareness of run local / buy local, we have created the WTA Running Team Challenge. The goal is to increase awareness of local running managers (hey that’s us), local running stores (hey that’s our partner InStep) and local running teams (hey that’s all of us) in a fun and competitive format.
Want to join the team challenge? Well it is super-duper easy and free. We only ask that you help promote the WTA Run Series and awareness of run local / buy local.
For every three registrations, we will refund $10.00 of your registration fee. Two ways to do it.
At registration checkout, you will be given the option to share to Facebook that you've registered for a super fun event with SCSE! For every 3 people you get to register for the same event using your unique link, you'll get $10 back from your registration!
