Lake Stephens Finns Up 5K

Welcome to the Lake Stephens Finns Up 5K and Kids Splash Dash hosted by Active Southern West Virginia – a thrilling race experience set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Stephens. Mark your calendars for July 26h, 2025, and get ready to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the area while enjoying a family-friendly event filled with excitement and celebration. 

5K Race: Starting at the Lake Stephens recreation parking lot area , the Finns Up 5K takes you on a picturesque journey along a relatively flat out-and-back course. The trail guides you through a wooded trail, offering a perfect balance of challenge and enjoyment.  The race can be run, walked, and accompanied by leashed dogs. The 5K will be chip timed and is open to all ages wanting to podium. Awards will be given to top finishers in each division. 

Kids Splash Dash:  The Kids Splash Dash is a free non-timed fun run for youth ages 12 and under.

 Packet Pick-up: Runners will be able to pick up their packet with their bib number starting at 8 am race day at Lake Stephens beach/splash pad parking lot area pavilion. 

Timeline: 

• 9 am - Kids Dash 
• 9:30 am - 5K 
• 10:30 am - Awards 
• 11 am - Start of the Raleigh County Parks and Rec Beach Blast 

5K Racer Perks: 

• Closed Trail Course
• Chip Timing
• Water Station at Midway point
• Top finisher medals 
• sport towel for each participant 
• Post-race refreshments

Post-Race Beach Blast: After you cross the finish line, the celebration continues with the Lake Stephens Beach Blast presented by Raleigh County Parks and Recreation Authority starting at 11 am. Experience a day of post-race festivities on the beach, featuring games, prizes, food trucks, and a live DJ!
