This FREE fun run/walk, hosted by #StoryofARunner Group (SOAR),* celebrates Global Running Day presented by South Central Kansas Medical Center and KanPak Ark City. The race starts at 6pm Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in Arkansas City. The start/finish line is at the Paris Park Pool entrance to the hike and bike path. Participants of all ages can choose their distance from one mile to a 5k in this out and back course. Prize drawings will be held following the race. This event is not timed.
NEW FOR 2019 is a partnership with the Arkansas City Family Aquatic Center allowing all race finishers FREE entry to the Paris Park Pool following the race until 8pm.
TSHIRT OR TANK
Participants may purchase Global Running Day shirts featuring the colorful event logo and sponsors’ logos on the back for just $15 plus a processing fee. Upcharge applies for extended sizes. TO GUARANTEE A SHIRT ON RACE DAY, ORDER BY May 18, 2019.
Online registration ends on June 4, 2019 at 11:59pm. Race Day registration is available beginning at 5pm at the race location. Packet pick-up details will be announced soon.
Please utilize parking at Paris Park Pool or at the Ag Building.
High heat and humidity can be dangerous to runners. Therefore, make sure you drink plenty of fluids the morning of the race and at the aid stations. If you feel overheated or feel dizzy, seek aid.
SUPPORTING YOUR LOCAL RUNNING COMMUNITY
SOAR has partnered with Legacy Regional Community Foundation as our 501(c)3 entity. Sponsorship dollars and profits from t-shirt sales will be held in a fund to help SOAR host future races for our community.
