2020 Race Cancelled

Hello everyone, my name is Patrick Todd and I am the race director for the El Dorado Lake Triathlon.  I hope you and your family are getting through the current pandemic well and my heart goes out to all of you.  I have been in charge of the El Dorado Lake Triathlon since it’s inception in 2010 and it’s an event that is very near and dear to my heart.  With much consideration over the current situation and unknown restrictions ahead, Timer Guys has decided to cancel the June 2020 event.  We have spent a lot of time trying to go over safety measures that would ensure social distancing and maintain the safety of participants, volunteers and spectators.  We came to the conclusion that with the size of the event and limited resources, it just wouldn’t be responsible to hold the event under any circumstance.  In consideration of a later date, we didn’t want to get anybody’s hopes up with the potential that we would have to cancel again.  We truly regret having to make this decision, because we were looking forward to seeing you all next month and getting back to some sense of normal.  Refunds will be issued to all registered participants by check no later than May 15th.  I sincerely apologize for the bad news and truly hope we will all be able to join together in sport sooner rather than later.  Link to announcement at https://www.facebook.com/eldoradolaketri/posts/2618349581772781

Official Decision on Event Will Be Made May 8

We will be extending price breaks for 2 weeks after we make the official decision.  After the announcement yesterday of the Ad Astra Plan by our governor, this event currently would be under the Phase Three 90 person limit.  We are working on a plan to either hold the event as is while spacing out start times and limiting the number of people in the transition area or potentially postponing so we are no longer under the Phase 3 restrictions.
