Description

The Neuf Memorial 9K and 2 Mile Run

2022 marked the Fifth & Final Neuf Memorial Run.

To all the race participants, donors, and volunteers, we thank you for supporting the Neuf Memorial Run and for joining us on this journey to honor our friend Russ Neufeld.  Through your generosity we have been able to provide annual financial support to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and to endow the Russ Neufeld Memorial Scholarship at Hesston College.  Race proceeds and generous donations have raised over $75,000 for the scholarship in Russ’s name which provides funding for students in financial need.  This amount far exceeds our initial goals and is a tribute to all of your support.

In addition, we have had amazing race sponsors who have supported us at each step of the way.  In particular, we would like to thank Mojo’s Coffee Bar, the Reverie at Mojo’s, Bethel College, Hesston College, KMUW, Hanna Eastin Pottery, and the Central Care Cancer Center. Their support helped make this event possible.

During the five years of the event, the run has averaged over 200 total registrations and 150 in-person runners and walkers.  Participants running or walking from a distance have come from over 20 different states from California to Massachusetts.  In addition, we’ve had a strong contingent of participants from our Canadian friends to the north as well as a prolific walker in Japan.  Familiar faces from near and far have returned year after year.  The Neuf has been a community-building experience for us in so many ways beyond measure.

Before Russ died in January 2017, his parting wish was... "take all this love you have and share it. It only multiplies and there are so many who could use it... just spread the love folks - it's the only thing in this world that endures." Please continue to spread the love.

Our best to all of you.

Cheers,

Brad Guhr, David LeVan, Eric Massanari, Toby Tyner and Derek Yoder

2022 Race Day Information

The Fifth & Final Neuf Memorial Run is this Saturday!  Thank you for your participation.

To keep us as safe as possible during this pandemic surge, we are moving packet pick up and the post race food outside.  Please arrive close to race time.  We will not hold a post race awards ceremony.  Instead, prizes will be awarded as the top three male and female finishers in each race finish.  Food and drink will be served grab and go as you finish.

Here is the rest of the important race day information:

  • Masks are required inside buildings and highly encouraged outside when social distancing is not possible.  Socially distance whenever possible.  Please spread the love and not the virus by masking up.
