This year we are honoring James Allen, M.D.
Jim was an advocate of physical and mental health and a true athlete. He finished 25 Marathons as well as an iron man competition. Jim was an avid runner for decades.
Jim served as an ER doctor for many years in Los Angeles, CA. Jim's medical career included working as an emergency room physician at Mt. Carmel Hospital and several hospitals in the Los Angeles area for over 30 years. He took care of many people with anxiety, depression, and addiction disorders. Jim was so kind to all. Frequent patients in the ER used to request the "Older gentleman with white hair" upon arrival to the ER. Losing Jim this past summer was heartbreaking his family, his friends, and his community both in LA and his hometown in Ohio. We are so thankful for Jim's indomitable spirit. We carry on his lessons of staying calm under pressure, coping with life with positive skills such as running, humor, group counseling, puzzling, golf, and spending time with friends and family.
