Run for a Cause

The Choose to Include 5k and 1 mile walk is raising funds for Special Olympics Kansas Unified Champion Schools and Unified Champion City Schools project. Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools® is an opportunity for schools pre-K through university level to intentionally promote meaningful social inclusion. This is accomplished by bringing together students with and without intellectual disabilities to create accepting school environments, utilizing three interconnected components: Special Olympics Unified Sports®, inclusive youth leadership, and whole school engagement. The Special Olympics Kansas UCS program is in its 13th year and is active on nearly 50 campuses state-wide. The Unified Champion City Schools project is a targeted approach to bring our inclusive programming to students in the Kansas City Kansas Public Schools. Funds raised will provide resources, educational materials, sports equipment and more to students in Kansas City Kansas Public Schools and Topeka Public Schools!
