Description

Join the Louisiana Pediatric Cardiology Foundation’s 3rd Annual Heart Hero Hustle on April 13, 2019, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm! This event will be held at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center. It includes a 5k, 1-mile fun run, and CHD Awareness Walk. Men, women, boys and girls are invited to participate. This is a non-competitive race, but a clock will be posted at the finish line for runners to check their times. Every runner will receive a t-shirt and a custom Heart Hero Hustle medal. Louisiana's exclusive Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awareness Walk featuring families with children battling heart defects/disease from all over the state will take place immediately after the 1-mile fun run ends. We encourage all families participating in the walk to purchase t-shirts to help support our mission. T-shirts are $10. Email Devin Durdin at devin.durdin@lpcf.com to place your order. Food and drinks will be available as well as post-race activities and entertainment for children. Wear RED and BLUE and/or superhero costumes to show your support for the cause!

All proceeds from this event benefit the Louisiana Pediatric Cardiology Foundation (LPCF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides support for families across south central Louisiana who have a child battling congenital heart defects/heart disease. Grants are available to assist families with travel and lodging expenses during a child’s heart surgery, as well as a support group for moms. In addition, LPCF also provides FREE heart screens for high school athletes in an effort to detect athletes at risk of sudden cardiac death from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.
