Phi Zeta of Chi Omega presents the Making Strides for Make A Wish 5K & 1K!

The Phi Zeta Chapter of Chi Omega continues to support her national philanthropy, the Make-A-Wish Foundation®, whose mission is to grant the wishes of children with life threatening illnesses to enrich the human experience with strength, hope, and joy. Last year alone, The Phi Zeta Chapter of Chi Omega at McNeese State University raised over $12,000. This donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® granted the wish of a local child named Chance. We hope that you will consider making a contribution to our first annual Making Strides for Make-A-Wish to help make more wishes, like Chance’s, come true.

The contributions of caring individuals, like you, will provide our Texas Gulf Coast & Louisiana chapter of Make-A-Wish® with the resources to grant wishes to more than 400 kids in our community this year. Your contribution is more than just a gift. For these special kids, it’s a chance to forget about being sick, to remember that anything is possible, and to keep making plans for the future. It is the gift of hope, and, for our wish kids, hope is the most powerful gift in the world. When you help grant wishes, you may find your own life as greatly enriched as the families whose lives are changed forever with precious memories that last a lifetime. Making Strides for Make A Wish Event Details

Packet-Pick Up

Registered participants need photo identification and the confirmation receipt from RunSignUp.com for packet pick-up. Proxy pickup is allowed for immediate family members, husband/wife/sibling, with identification.

Registration Questions

All registrations are non-refundable. Registrations cannot be transferred/ deferred. Thank you for your donation.

Hydration Station & Medical Aid

One water/electrolyte stations, which runners pass twice, will be well stocked along the route. Each water station will have water, and PowerAde product (donated by Lake Charles Coca-Cola Bottling Company). First aid station will be available on site.

Shirts

Shirt sizes are guaranteed if you register by Friday, March 8, 2019. Race day registrants are not guaranteed a t-shirt.

Weather

If there is lightning in the area, the race will either have a delayed start; route may be altered, or depending on the intensity of the weather, be cancelled. If fog present, the visibility will determine if delayed start is necessary. The Race Director will make the determination.

If race is cancelled due to inclement weather, or other reasons the following will occur:

1) Notification of cancellation will be sent to registered participants via email.

2) Information will be posted on Making Strides for Make A Wish Facebook page.

Parking

There is plenty of FREE parking available at Ward 3 Enos Darbonne Complex. However, carpooling is recommended. We encourage courteous behavior toward our neighbors; refrain from parking in grass or on the street.

The Post-race Party

Come for the run, but stay for the party! Post-race refreshments include bottled water and energy drinks. Post-race food includes fruit and snacks.

Lost and Found

Phi Zeta of Chi Omega is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Lost items that were found and turned in will be returned to the Registration desk after the event. Items not claimed at end of race will be donated to local non-profit agency.
