Description
Join us for the first annual "Watson Strong" 5K Color Run on Saturday September 14th at the Vidalia Riverfront, Vidalia, Louisiana from 9 am until 2 pm. The race will begin at the base of the levee across from the Vidalia Upper Elementary School and will go down Concordia Ave including Concordia Extension turning around halfway down the Extension and heading back to the start/finish line. There will be several color stations along the route so you are colorful when you complete the race. There will be two waves: a runners wave that starts at 9 am and shortly afterwards the walkers wave will begin. There will be live music, photo opportunities, vendors, Watson Strong merchandise tent and a children's area for everyone to enjoy at the amphitheater area. Registration for this wonderful event ends September 1st. Your registration includes a white t-shirt, sunglasses and a few more items. You can also purchase a special Watson Strong attendee shirt by August 28th by emailing your name and sizes to watsonstrong@yahoo.com.
This inspiring event is dedicated to the memory of Watson Calhoun, a brave four-year-old boy who battled a rare brain cancer. Watson's journey at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital showcased the compassionate care and extensive support the hospital provides. Although they fought valiantly by his side, his condition surpassed available treatments. To honor his fighting spirit, we're hosting this color-filled race to raise funds for St. Jude and the Watson Strong Foundation, ensuring that other children receive the same opportunities for care and treatment. The Watson Strong Foundation was established by the Calhoun Family to aid families facing similar situations. Whether you choose to walk or run, your participation helps us all embody the strength and courage Watson showed the world. Sign up today and be a part of something truly meaningful—let's be Watson Strong together!
