Description
Each season comes to an end with a celebratory 5K. This closing event gives program participants of all abilities a tangible sense of accomplishment. Crossing the finish line instills confidence through completion and is a joyful moment program participants always remember! Everyone who participates in our 5K receives a commemorative medal to celebrate this incredible achievement.
What's a 5K Buddy?
Every Girls on the Run participant at the 5K must run or walk alongside their chosen 5K Buddy. A 5K Buddy is someone 16+ who is responsible for encouraging, motivating, and keeping them safe on the 5K course and throughout the day. Each GOTR participant should be paired with one 5K Buddy. We ask that only one 5K buddy register per GOTR participant. Any additional people who want to participate should register as a Community Runner.
What's a Community Runner?
For the first time, the Girls on the Run Greater Boston 5K is excited to have a limited number of 5K bibs for community runners! If you've always wanted to experience the joy of a Girls on the Run 5K, now is your chance!
Girls on the Run participants and coaches are already registered for this event and DO NOT need to register again. This event will take place rain or shine. Please plan to join the celebration, whatever the weather brings!

We are excited to bring together over 200 teams from throughout greater Boston for our Celebratory Spring 2026 5K!
EVENT DAY TIMELINE - Saturday, May 30
Boston Common - 0 Charles Street, Boston
7:30 AM Coach check-in and participant arrival
8:45 AM Same day registration closes
8:50 AM Pre-Race program starts
9:00 AM 5K begins
10:30 AM Event comes to a close
Packet Pick Up
Save time on 5K Day by picking up your 5K Buddy or Community Runner T-shirt and bib early!
Dates and Times to be announced soon!
Please note:
- 5K Buddies and Community Runners may pick up packets for other individuals but must communicate this ahead of time.
- 5K Buddies and Community Runners can register at bib pick-up.
- In some circumstances, coaches have arranged for an entire team's materials to be picked up. Please check in with your coach if you have any questions about how to get your bib, or your GOTR participant's bib.
Can't make it to an Early Packet Pick Up Location?
5K Buddies and Community Runners will be able to pick up their items at the Registration Tent at the 5K. The tent will open at 7:30 am. Girls on the Run participants will receive their 5K bibs from their Coaches at the 5K.
