Description

On Saturday, March 23rd at 10:30 AM, the Harvard Tech and Global Health Initiative is hosting a 5k for participants to run/walk in support of cancer research! The funds raised from participants’ entries and donations go directly towards the American Association for Cancer Research, Mass General Cancer Center, and Christopher’s Haven Boston. $100 in gift cards will be raffled away to our participants! Let’s run for a world where people with cancer live better and longer lives!

Schedule:

9:30 AM - Participants should begin showing up for bib pickup at Christian Herter Park at the starting area (see course map below).

10:00 AM - Pre-Race Acknowledgements and Address Speech

10:30 AM - Race Start!

11:30 AM - Awards Ceremony/$100 Gift Card Raffle!

Race Map

The route starts at Christian Herter Park and heads west looping around the Herter Amphitheater. Then, it continues east along Dr. Paul Dudley White Path and crosses Elliot bridge. After the 2nd Mile, it crosses Arsenal Street Bridge and continues to finish before the start line in Herter Park.

Transportation and Parking

Transportation from Harvard River Houses:

We will be meeting at 9:15 AM to take the 86 bus from JFK St @ Eliot Street (by the Harvard Kennedy School) for 5 stops to 367 Western Ave opposite Brighton Mall. The bus ride takes 10-15 minutes to arrive by Herter Park.

Transportation from Harvard Yard/The Quad:

We will be meeting at 9:15 AM to take the 86 bus from Harvard Sq @ Garden St - Dawes Island (at the edge of Cambridge Commons) for 7 stops to 367 Western Ave opposite Brighton Mall. The bus ride takes 15-20 minutes to arrive by Herter Park.

Parking

Free parking is available at Herter Park on both sides of the Ampitheater.
