Ride for the Reserve

Join us on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Linden Farm in Dickerson, MD

Register Now

Please join us for the 17th anniversary of the Montgomery County Farm Tour to benefit the Reserve and our quest to protect this special place. We are once again being hosted by Sugarloaf Citizens Association at historic Linden Farm where routes of 6-62 miles over the Ag Reserve's rolling Rustic Roads will start and finish with our signature picnic.

Each ride includes a gourmet picnic boxed lunch at the finish at Linden Farm, and a pop-up Artisan and Farmers Market open to the public. There will also be food trucks with food and dessert options available for purchase.

Your participation helps MCA support local farms to strengthen the rural economy, grow the next generation of farmers, and advocate for thriving farms, abundant forests and clean waterways in Montgomery County.

The Ride

Riders will choose among routes of around 6, 18, 25, 30+, 40, and 62 miles including quiet, rolling landscapes dotted with the Reserve’s orchards, red barns and silos. Many of the routes include views of Sugarloaf Mountain. Beginners and experienced riders welcome! Bring your family and enjoy everything the Ag Reserve has to offer!

The Stops

Rides of 18 miles and up will visit Locals Farm Market in downtown Poolesville. Rides of 34, 41, and 62 miles will visit Locals plus a local horse farm. The 6-mile ride is a quick out and back toward the River. The stops are fully stocked with snacks and drinks.

Rides for Many; Picnic for All

We plan rides that fit novice riders and families (like our 6 miles) all the way up to seasoned riders - like our metric century - 62 miles). Check out the routes under "Event Info."

As in previous years, we are opening the picnic to non-riders with the "Just Picnic" ticket so your family and friends can join you at the finish for lunch - or visit one of the food vendors at the after party!

After-Ride Celebration

We are bringing the vibrancy of the Reserve to you with a pop-up farmers, artisans, and nonprofit market after the ride. You can learn more about the people who work in and protect the Agricultural Reserve. Find your perfect pumpkin, fall plants, and of course the best local produce around. Music, face painting and family fun for all.
