Sun May 2 - Sat May 8
RaceJoy Ready
Join us on May 2nd to May 8th for a VIRTUAL Race. #RunUnRun2021
Your neighborhood, your favorite trail, your treadmill or even your couch (no running required!)

It’s time to lace up your running shoes and pave the way to hope and freedom for children in Maryland! Join us for a virtual 5k/10k Run, Family Fun Walk (1.6 miles) or #RunUnRun (couch/recliner option) to raise awareness about child sex trafficking and fundraise for Araminta Freedom Initiative’s mission to end this injustice. You are able to run wherever you would like (your neighborhood route, your favorite trail, even your treadmill), report results, share photos and much more. For an added experience, you will be able to download and run with RaceJoy. With the RaceJoy app your friends and family can follow your run and send you cheers along the way.  Let's demonstrate our whole community standing together against child trafficking.

The event is family friendly and appropriate for all ages. We invite those wanting to learn more about the subject matter to attend an AWAKEN: Araminta’s monthly Introduction to Human Trafficking Presentation (

What is a virtual race? In short, you register for the event of your choice, decide how you want to participate and support Araminta in providing healing community to survivors of human trafficking. A virtual race can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. It has no official start line or finish line. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on a trail, or on the treadmill. You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Since it’s a virtual race you will be able to avoid the crowds but still participate with hundreds of other people around the world! For our virtual event you can even participate in our #RunUnRun as part of our couch team!* There are options for everyone. So lace up those shoes, keep six feet away from everyone else and get moving!

Run Your Race and sign up for RaceJoy:

Normally we toe the starting line on Saturday morning, but with the virtual event you’ve got 8 days to run! You can run your race anytime between May 2nd and May 8th. Since we are giving out awards to our top overall and age group runners, be sure to take a screenshot of your running app, or picture of your smartwatch or treadmill if you think you could be a top finisher (we’ll need this to verify placements of award winners). We encourage all participants to use the RaceJoy app, where you can track your run, automatically submit your results, send and receive cheers to/from other participants! Click on the link to download the app!

Packet Pickup (receive your race package):
