Frequently Asked Questions

1.      Do you allow strollers?   Yes, strollers are welcomed during the 1K and at the post-race event. Please be aware and stay clear of other walkers/runners

2.      Do you allow pets?  We love animals but please let your pets at home. For safety reasons, our location does not allow them.

3.      What is the processing fee? Can I have it waived?  The processing fee is set in place by our registration providers and cannot be waived. It supports their services and system development

4.      Are spectators allowed? Yes, everyone is welcome to cheer the runners and enjoy post-race activities. 

5.      Will you be accepting walk up registrations?  Yes, we will be accepting day of event registrations. The fee on the day of the race will be $55 per runner We accept credit cards. Shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for walk-up registrants.

6.      When is Packet Pick-up? There are two days for Packet Pick-Up, which includes your T-shirt and swag bag. Both packet pick-ups are at

Thursday, October 3 | 9 p.m. to 3 p.m.  and Friday, October 4 | 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

***We highly recommend packet pickup be completed on one of the designated days. However, we realize it may be impossible to pick up your packet at the official times. We will have limited packet pick-up the morning of the race. Be sure to arrive as early as possible. **

7.      Will there be ample parking? The Blue Crab Stadium offers ample parking.

8.      Will you have a bag check area? No, we will not have bag check area. Please plan accordingly as Hospice of the Chesapeake is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items.

9.      What is the refund policy? Our policy is that we do not allow refunds. All proceeds are a chartiable contribution to support patients and families in our community.

10.  Can I make updates to my registration items? You can log in to your registration to edit your personal registration information excluding name, birthday, and gender. If you need to edit one of those categories, please email events at events@hospicechesapeake.org

  • The deadline to make changes to your personal registration information is Monday, September 16, 2024
  • The deadline to update your shirt size is Monday, September 16, 2024. To update your shirt size, you will select 'Add-Ons' in grey menu bar.
  • To update your email address, phone number, or mailing address you will select ‘Participant Info’ in the white menu bar.
  • To update your emergency contact you will select ‘Questions’ in the grey menu bar.

11. What is the minimum age requirement? Do you need a parent’s or guardian’s consent to participate? The minimum age for the 5K is 6 years old , and we need the signature of a consenting parent or guardian. No runner under the age of 12 may participate in the 5K unless accompanied by an adult. There is no age limit for the children’s 1K.
