GYHA Waterfront Day of Play 5K Run and Walk

GYHA Day of Play 5K

Join us for the Fourth Annual 5K run/walk and be a part of helping two organizations. First, you'll be helping Gardiner Youth Hockey Association continue to provide a strong hockey program at an affordable price to all children who want to play the game of hockey.  Secondly, $5.00 of every paid registration will be directly donated by GYHA to the community "Backpack Program."  This program was started by Food for Thought Ministries, and it is organized in the Gardiner community by the Gardiner Free Methodist Church partnered with the First Baptist Church and Good Shepherd's Food Bank.  The "Backpack Program" provides backpacks of food to the schools of MSAD 11.  There are children within the community whose only meal they will get during the day is the meal they eat while at school.  During the school year, backpacks provide food to these children on the weekends.  

The event will be held on August 08, 2015 and utilize the beautiful Rail Trail starting and ending in Hannaford parking lot. Each registered runner/walker will receive a commemorative Tee shirt.

 Gardiner Youth Hockey is a non-profit Association. The purposes of the Association shall be exclusively charitable and benevolent in nature and shall include, but not limited to, the teaching of hockey and skating to members of the youth within the general geographic area of the corporation and to implant firmly in the youth of the community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, and loyalty so that they may be finer, stronger, and happier youths and will grow to be mature responsible adults and citizens.
