The 10th Annual Savage Family Turkey Trot 5k (Run/Walk)

Get ready for it.... THIS YEAR MARKS THE 10TH ANNUAL SAVAGE FAMILY TURKEY TROT!!  It amazes me what we have accomplished as a community.  I had no idea that this race would make such an impact on the families of South Portland and I have all of you to thank for it!! 

My kids (who were almost 7 yrs old at the time) and I decided to create this Thanksgiving morning event back in 2016 to honor their dad Nathan. Nathan was an avid runner, biker, triathlete and family man who lost his life to a fatal heart attack on July 2, 2016,  just three weeks before he was set to compete in his first full Ironman event, and just months prior to his 40th birthday.  

We work solely as volunteers and give 100% of our profits back to the kids of South Portland.  Most of the money has gone to the Nathan Savage Memorial Fund, a scholarship account through the South Portland Community Center that gives financial assistance to any child wanting to participate in one of their youth development programs.  It has been a huge success.  We also have given to such things as The South Portland Food Cupboard, The SoPo Skate Park, local soccer scholarships, shoe donations, etc.

SINCE 2016 WE HAVE DONATED OVER $100K BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY!!!
