2020 Wheatlake Festival of Races has been canceled

At Spectrum Health, our priority is to help prevent the spread of infection and keep the community healthy and safe. As a result, the annual Spectrum Health Wheatlake Festival of Races has been canceled. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.

All donations, stake purchases and race registrants will have the option of a full refund.

Save the Date for the Wheatlake Festival of Races on May 15, 2021. 

Here Are Your Options:

All event proceeds of the Wheatlake Festival of Races support the Wheatlake Cancer and Wellness Fund, helping patients at the Susan P. Wheatlake Regional Cancer Center in Reed City, MI. If you choose, you may donate your registration fee toward this fund. 

We deeply appreciate your generosity and look forward to seeing you at the 2021 Wheatlake Festival of Races. 

The Wellness Center at the Susan P. Wheatlake Regional Cancer Center includes a library, boutique and massage and integrative therapy rooms. Patients can borrow educational materials from the center and also receive free massages and integrative therapy services such as reflexology and acupuncture. All wellness services are provided FREE OF CHARGE thanks to generous donations to the Wellness Fund.

Description

Join the fight against cancer and participate in the annual Wheatlake Festival of Races on Saturday, May 16, 2020! This scenic, family-friendly event will be held on the Big Rapids Riverwalk and the White Pine Trail. The event headquarters will be located at the Bandshell behind Big Rapids Middle School, 500 N. Warren Ave., Big Rapids. 

Race proceeds will benefit the Wheatlake Cancer and Wellness Fund, helping patients at the Susan P. Wheatlake Regional Cancer Center.

The Susan P. Wheatlake Regional Cancer Center is a comprehensive regional treatment facility bringing together the full range of services for patients and families on their cancer journey. The cancer center features a Wellness Center, which includes a library, boutique, gift shop and an integrative therapy room. Patients can borrow educational materials from the center and also receive free massages and integrative therapy services. The center hosts support groups and educational sessions to assist patients on the road to recovery. All wellness services are provided FREE OF CHARGE thanks to generous donations to the Wellness Fund.  

Race proceeds will benefit the Susan P. Wheatlake Cancer and Wellness Fund, an endowment of the Spectrum Health Foundation Big Rapids & Reed City Hospitals. The fund provides resources, programming and services that directly impact cancer patients and their families in our region.

·       Individuals and teams often run in support of, or memory of, cancer patients who are family members or colleagues. Employee group discounts or matching donation discounts are available.

Your sponsorship will provide resources and Wellness Center services to patients at the Susan P. Wheatlake Regional Cancer Center in Reed City such as gas cards to ensure they can travel to their treatments, free appointments in our on-site boutique such as wig fittings and bra fittings and free integrative therapies such as massage and reflexology to aid their recovery.

Encouragement and Memorial Stakes!

•           Purchase an encouragement stake to show your support for a cancer survivor in your life.

•           Purchase a memorial stake to honor a loved one who you have lost.

•           Stakes are only $10 per piece and will display your loved one’s name in the grassy area near the Bandshell.
