Proceeds from the 5k are allocated to the Detroit City FC Youth Select soccer program. The first in a generation travel team enters its fourth season, providing low to no cost playing opportunities for youth players from the city of Detroit. To overcome this deficit and stay committed to providing accessible soccer development and training to the youth of the city, the idea for a community-based event, involving every level of our club, was born.

The run/walk route starts at the Detroit City Fieldhouse and runs through, our neighbor, Historic Elmwood Cemetery.
The cemetery was established in 1846 and incorporated in 1849 as a non-profit corporation by an act of the Michigan Legislature. Founded by some of early Detroit’s leading citizens, Elmwood quickly expanded from its original 42 acres to its current size of 86 acres and became the final resting-place of tycoon and laborer alike.
