Description
Help us celebrate The 12th Annual Brainy Day 5K & 10K Trail Run, August 11, 2018. This great local event supports those who suffer from a neurological condition called hydrocephalus. All proceeds are donated to The Brainy Day Fund.
The 2018 Brainy Day Trail Run is brought to you by Odd Side Ales, Orchard Markets, WGHN, and The Grand Haven Tribune.
The 5K course includes sandy areas, some hills, beautiful wooded areas, a pond and amazing Nunica farmland. It is a great first trail run for beginners and a moderately fast course for trail lovers of all skill levels.
The 10K course is challenging, but it offers a sense of accomplishment that will empower you and leave you feeling awesome. Much hillier than the 5k, the course is breathtakingly stunning in more than one way. The 10K course is perfect for adventure-seeking, nature-loving trail runners.
**New in 2018** Brainy Day After-Party – presented by Odd Side Ales
We're very happy to announce that in 2018 we'll be adding a family-friendly post-race party to the lineup of events. We're still working out all of the details, but there will be beverages and food for everyone (freebies are only available to registered runners). It is open to runners and their family & friends. Anyone who is 21+ and a race finisher will get a free beer courtesy of our Title Sponsor, Odd Side Ales in Grand Haven.
**New in 2018** Finisher Medals
Every runner will receive a finisher's medal – because if you put the time in to race, we feel your efforts should be rewarded. If you run both the 5K & 10K, you'll only receive one medal, but you will receive an extra gift for the double effort (as well as 2x drink tickets for the after-party).
**New in 2018** New Logo & Reflective Printing
Thanks to the great work from Drivn Threads, the race has a brand new logo. Drivn is behind the race logos of the Grand Rapids Triathlon, MiTi and Grand Rapids Beer Mile. Even better, our race shirts will incorporate reflective priting. We're really excited to see these shirts on the trails.
Awards & Cash Prizes
Every finisher from the 5K & 10K will receive a custom finishers' medal.
The Overall Top 3 Male & Female runners in both the 5K and 10K races will receive cash prizes, a unique medal & a commemorative Brainy Day Trail Run stein.
Age group winners will receive amazing farm-fresh vegetables from Mellema Farms, one of our long-time sponsors.
